Mechvibes Debug Data Retention Policy

Definitions

  • HTTP refers to the Hypertext Transfer Protocol which is an application protocol for distributed, collaborative, and hypermedia information systems. It is the foundation of data communication on the World Wide Web.
  • Server refers to a computer or system that provides resources, data, or services to other computers, known as clients, over a network.
  • IPC means Inter-Process Communication, and refers to a communication which occurs between the Mechvibes app and an HTTP server, via the use of the electron-log npm package.

Consent

Data collection only occurs when you opt-in via a buried toggle within the app. Your consent via this toggle is required before any data is collected. We respect your control over your data and ensure that no data is collected unless you choose to opt-in.

What Data is Stored and Collected

The following types of data may be collected and stored by the IPC Server:

  • Device Hostname, eg. "Lunas-Macbook-Pro.local"
  • Device Account Username, eg. "lunaalfien"
  • Device Platform, eg. macOS is "darwin"

Data Storage Duration

Data collected by the Mechvibes IPC Server is retained for a maximum period of 24 hours.

Purpose of Data Collection

Data collected by the Mechvibes IPC Server is used for troubleshooting, debugging, and similar purposes to improve the Mechvibes app.

Please note that your data is treated with confidentiality and is used solely for the aforementioned purposes within the designated retention period.

We want to assure you that we do not share or sell any data collected by the IPC Server to third parties for any reason and we stand behind this commitment and will not change this section of the data retention policy under any circumstances.
