The community sound pack archive is back on the Mechvibes website. We brought hundreds of packs from the old site and community collections into the sound pack library, alongside packs shared through the new website.

The library gives those older downloads a place beside new work. You can search for a sound, see its original credit when available, download a ZIP and bring it into the desktop app. You can also publish a pack of your own from your profile.

Find a pack

Start at Sound Packs. Search by name, author or tag, or narrow the list to Keyboard, Mouse, Game or Fun. Tags let you follow a more specific description without treating every switch type or sound style as a separate category.

Open a pack to see its description, author, license and available download. Imported packs can also show where they came from, with a link back to the original source when one is available. That source is useful when you want more context about a recording or an older community post.

The archive account holds imported packs until their original authors claim them. The credit shown on a pack can therefore differ from the account managing it.

Download and install

The reliable route is to download the ZIP from the pack page and import it in Mechvibes:

  1. Choose Download zip on the website.
  2. Open Sound packs in the desktop app.
  3. Choose the Keyboard or Mouse tab for the pack you downloaded.
  4. Click Add, then Select file, and select the ZIP.
  5. Return to Home and choose the imported pack.

Keep the ZIP intact for this workflow. The desktop app expects the pack configuration and audio inside it. If you already have an unpacked folder, the app also lets you open the custom packs folder from Sound packs > Manage, copy the folder there and refresh the list.

Some library pages show an Install in Mechvibes button. Availability depends on the pack. Downloading the ZIP remains an option when that button is absent. The sound pack guide provides more background on importing and creating packs.

Share your own pack

Choose Share your pack in the library and sign in. Start with the name, description, tags, category and license, then create a draft. On its edit page, open the editor to build the pack, or upload the matching ZIP you have prepared.

Uploading a valid ZIP publishes the draft. Read any validation message if it fails, correct the pack and try again. A description alone is not a playable download, so creating a draft does not put an unfinished pack in the public list.

Choose a license that fits the audio you are sharing. Imported archive packs start with Personal use. Other people can fork packs with MIT, CC BY 4.0 or CC0 licenses through the website.

Claim an imported pack you made

Sign in with the Discord account you originally used, or an account whose verified email matches your earlier submission. Open your sound packs and look for Your packs from the old Mechvibes.

When a matching imported pack appears, choose Claim to manage it from your profile. Claiming transfers ownership without replacing the published ZIP or changing its revision. Matching depends on the account information available from the original submission, so a familiar display name alone is not enough.

If a pack needs attention, use the report form on its detail page. Keep the pack link and the original source in view so the issue can be identified without publishing anyone's private submission details.
